Teach Mindfulness

How can you learn mindfulness? How can you become a Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy Teacher? What are the central skills, knowledge and attributes of any mindfulness teacher? Which skills, knowledge and attributes are needed for teaching particular courses, to particular groups and in specific settings?

The University of Oxford Mindfulness Centre has been at the foreground of MBCT training since MBCT was developed by our Founding Director Professor Mark Williams, and his colleagues Zindel Segal in Toronto and John Teasdale in Cambridge. Our mission is to train the next generation of MBCT teachers, both by offering training but also mentoring and supporting new and emerging training centres around the world.

Welcome to the OMC’s training pathway. This always follows fours steps in line with the internationally recognized MBCT Training Pathway published in 2018. These four steps our outlined below. We offer several different ways to become an MBCT teacher, that acknowledge your background knowledge, skills and mindfulness practice. We have step off points depending on your needs and what you want to do with this training. Finally we have several different training routes, including an academic University of Oxford Masters and a non-academic professional training. These are intended to suit the different background and needs of different people.
